MCP server
The Solvimon MCP server connects an AI assistant, such as Claude, to your billing data, so you can ask questions about it in plain language from the tools you already use. This page explains which data you can get through it and when to use it instead of Insights, reports or data exports. Setup is described in the MCP Server section.
How it works
You add the Solvimon MCP server to your AI assistant and sign in with your Desk account. When you ask a question, the assistant picks the tools it needs, queries Solvimon and answers with text, a table or a chart. It can run several queries for one question, and you can ask follow-up questions on the answer.
The assistant reads your data in two ways:
You can also combine Solvimon with the other tools connected to your assistant, for example to put invoice totals next to the deal data in your CRM, or to write the answer to a spreadsheet.
Example questions
These only read data, so they work on the test and the live server:
- What is my MRR over the past 6 months, and which portion is recurring, one-off and usage-based?
- Which 10 customers generated the most invoiced revenue this year?
- How many invoices are overdue, and how long are they overdue for?
- Compare recognised vs deferred revenue for last quarter
- Which customers still live on deprecated plans, and who is close to a renewal?
- How is this month’s billing run doing, and what needs my attention before I finalize?
Access and permissions
- Your permissions, nothing more. The assistant signs in as you through OAuth and gets the permissions your role has in Desk. See Connect with OAuth.
- Test and live.
https://test.mcp.solvimon.comconnects to your test sandbox.https://mcp.solvimon.comconnects to live billing data. Every read tool is available on live; the only changes an assistant can make there are draft quotes and customers. Solvimon enables live access per account, on request. - One platform per connection. Approve a single platform when you connect, so the assistant always knows which data you mean.
The MCP Server section describes how to connect Claude Desktop, claude.ai and Claude Code, and Developing for Solvimon lists every tool.
When to use another method
- For a number you report or book, check it against the matching Insights tile or report. An assistant chooses its own filters, so ask it which invoice statuses, dates and currency it used before you compare.
- For row-level files, such as the invoice lines of a quarter, generate a report. The MCP server answers questions; it is not a bulk export.
- For a continuous copy of your billing data in your own warehouse, use data exports.
