Overview is the landing page of Insights: one screen with what you billed, how many customers you bill, what is overdue and which products bring in revenue. Use it for a daily or weekly check-in, and go to Details when you need a breakdown.

Filters

FilterWhat it does
Invoice dateLimits tiles to invoices issued in the selected date range. Without a range, all invoices count.
CustomerLimits tiles to the selected customers.
Billing entityLimits tiles to invoices issued by the selected billing entities.

Each tile below lists the filters it responds to.

Key figures

Active customers

The number of customers that have at least one invoice dated in the selected range, in any status: draft, open, final, void or future.

Formula
Active customers = count of distinct customers with at least 1 invoice whose invoice date is in the range
  • Responds to: Invoice date. Without a range, this is every customer you have ever invoiced.
  • Use it for: the size of the customer base you bill in a period. Because invoices in every status count, a new customer is included as soon as their first invoice exists, before it is finalised.

The two badges under the tile compare the number of customers with an invoice in the current calendar month against earlier months:

Formula
MoM % = (customers this month − customers last month) ÷ customers last month × 100
YoY % = (customers this month − customers in the same month last year) ÷ customers in that month × 100

The badges are anchored on today’s date. They also respond to the Invoice date filter, so keep the range wide enough to include both the current month and the month you compare with; otherwise the badge reads −100% or stays empty.

This month’s revenue

Billed revenue for the current calendar month: the total, including tax, of final invoices with an invoice date in this month.

Formula
This month's revenue = Σ total of final invoices with invoice date in the current month
  • Responds to: Customer, Billing entity. Always shows the current month and ignores the Invoice date filter.
  • Use it for: tracking what has been billed so far this month.

The badges under the tile compare billed revenue between calendar months, by invoice date:

Formula
MoM % = (billed revenue this month − billed revenue last month) ÷ billed revenue last month × 100
YoY % = (billed revenue this month − billed revenue in the same month last year) ÷ billed revenue in that month × 100

The current month is month-to-date while the comparison month is complete, so the month-on-month badge is usually negative early in the month. Use Projected month revenue for a like-for-like view.

Projected month revenue

Where this month’s billed revenue lands if the pace so far continues until the end of the month.

Formula
Projected month revenue = this month's revenue ÷ day of the month today × days in the month

For example, €40,000 billed by 10 November projects to €40,000 ÷ 10 × 30 = €120,000.

  • Responds to: Customer, Billing entity.
  • Use it for: an early read on whether the month will end above or below last month.

The projection is a straight line. It works well when invoices are finalised throughout the month, for example with anniversary billing. If you finalise most invoices on the same day, such as everyone on the 1st, the projection extrapolates that day across the whole month and overshoots; use the monthly revenue chart or future revenue on Details: Revenue instead.

Overdue invoice amount and overdue invoice count

The total, including tax, and the number of overdue invoices. An invoice is overdue when it is final, not marked as paid, not on hold, and its due date has passed.

Formula
Overdue invoice amount = Σ total of final invoices that are unpaid, not on hold, and past their due date
Overdue invoice count = number of those invoices
  • Responds to: Invoice date, Customer, Billing entity. The Invoice date filter selects invoices by the day they were issued, not by their due date.
  • Use it for: spotting collection problems early. Open Details: Invoices to see how old the overdue amount is.

These tiles only work when payments are synchronised to Solvimon and the paid status is actively used. Overdue counts every final invoice that isn’t marked as paid once its due date has passed. Invoices paid through Solvimon’s payment links are updated automatically; payments you collect outside Solvimon must be marked as paid on the invoice, in Desk or through the API (see Invoice payment status). If your platform doesn’t keep the paid status up to date, every invoice past its due date shows as overdue and the tiles don’t reflect what your customers actually owe. A partially paid invoice counts as unpaid for its full amount.

Charts

Monthly revenue

Billed revenue per month: the total, including tax, of final invoices, grouped by billing period month. The chart shows up to 15 months.

Formula
Monthly revenue (month M) = Σ total of final invoices whose billing period starts in M
  • Responds to: Invoice date, Customer, Billing entity. The filter selects invoices by invoice date; the chart then places each invoice in the month it bills for.
  • Use it for: the revenue trend by the month the service was delivered. Grouping by billing period month means an invoice issued late, or in arrears, sits in the month it belongs to instead of inflating the month it was issued in.

Invoice status breakdown

The total amount, including tax, of invoices dated in the range, split by status: Draft, Open, Final, Void and Future.

Formula
Amount per status = Σ total of invoices with that status
  • Responds to: Invoice date, Customer, Billing entity.
  • Use it for: a view of your billing pipeline. Open is billing in progress, Draft is waiting for finalisation, Final is billed, Future is already scheduled for coming periods and Void is cancelled. A large Draft bar shortly after month end means invoices are waiting for review or held.

Revenue per product

Revenue per product, excluding tax, from final invoices dated in the range. The chart shows the 10 products with the most revenue.

Formula
Revenue per product = Σ amount excluding tax of the product's revenue lines on final invoices
  • Responds to: Invoice date, Customer, Billing entity.
  • Use it for: seeing which products drive revenue. Because the amounts exclude tax and only include lines linked to a product, the bars do not add up to billed revenue. For a product breakdown that allocates every invoice line, use Details: Revenue.
