Ask
Ask lets you question your billing data in plain language when the fixed dashboards don’t answer your question. Type a question, and Ask answers with a chart or a table built from the same data and the same metric definitions as the rest of Insights. Use it for one-off questions, such as revenue for one billing entity per quarter or overdue amounts for customers in one country.
Asking a good question
Ask works best when your question names three things: what to measure, how to split it, and which period. For example:
- “Billed revenue per month this year”
- “Top 10 customers by overdue amount”
- “Usage revenue per product last quarter”
- “Number of invoices per status for billing entity Acme B.V.”
- “Credit balance of Globex over the last 7 days”
Ask only reads data. It can’t change anything in Solvimon.
What Ask can answer from
Ask answers from these datasets:
The metrics are the ones described on the dashboard pages, so Ask returns the same number as the matching tile. Billed revenue, for example, counts final invoices including tax, exactly as on Overview. The metric glossary lists every metric with its formula.
Say which date you mean. “Revenue in March” can mean invoices issued in March or invoices for service delivered in March. Ask for revenue “by billing period” for the service month, or “by invoice date” for what you invoiced in a month. See Dates.
What Ask can’t answer
Ask has no access to what individual events were billed for, payment attempts, price configurations, the revenue recognition schedule, or MRR movements and cohorts. Use the Growth page for MRR, and a report for row-level data.
Asking from your own AI assistant
Ask works inside Desk. To ask questions about your billing data from Claude or another AI assistant instead, connect the MCP server. Besides aggregated figures, the MCP server also reads individual records, such as a customer’s invoices, payments or subscription terms.
