# Details: UsageWallets

The **UsageWallets** tab under **Insights → Details** shows a customer's prepaid credit balance and how it changes over time: top-ups raise it, usage and expiry lower it. Use it to see how fast a customer burns through their credits and when they will need a top-up.

## Filters

| Filter         | What it does                                                       |
| :------------- | :----------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Customer** | Selects the customer whose wallet you want to see. |
| **Time range** | Sets the period shown on the chart. Defaults to the last 24 hours. |

Balances are in **credits**, the unit of the wallet's credit type, not in money. For how wallets, grants and credit types work, see [Credit types & wallets](/platform-guides/wallets-credits/credit-types-wallets).

## Available balance

The credits the customer can still spend right now.

**`Formula`**

```text Formula
Available balance = max(0, Σ credits granted − Σ credits used), over grants that haven't expired
```

Expired grants no longer count: credits are use-it-or-lose-it, so whatever is left on a grant when it expires leaves the balance. If the customer has used more credits than they were granted, the available balance is 0, not negative.

Use it to answer the question a customer asks most: "how many credits do I have left?". For a wallet that isn't overdrawn, it matches the balance on the wallet in Desk.

## Credit balance over time

The customer's net credit balance over the selected time range.

**`Formula`**

```text Formula
Net balance (at time t) = Σ credits granted − Σ credits used, over grants that haven't expired at t
```

* **Top-ups** show as a step up, **usage** as a gradual or stepped decline, and **expiry** as a step down.
* The line can drop **below zero** when a customer has used more credits than they were granted. That gap is the overage; the Available balance tile shows 0 in that case.
* Solvimon records the balance every five minutes. The chart shows the latest balance per hour, and its most recent point is the live balance.
* Times are shown in Central European Time.

Use the slope to estimate when the balance runs out: if a customer uses 50 credits a day and has 300 left, they need a top-up within six days. Pair it with [usage limits](/platform-guides/meter-and-event-design/usage-limits) or a workflow to warn customers before their credits run out.

## Things to know

* **History starts with the recordings.** Credit movements are booked per billing period, so earlier balances can't be reconstructed hour by hour. The chart starts at the first recorded balance for your platform.
* **One wallet per customer.** The tab is designed for customers with one wallet and one credit type. For a customer with several wallets, check each wallet in Desk.
* **Empty tab.** If a customer with an active wallet shows no data, contact support to have the tab enabled for your platform.
