# write_user

**Live server:** test server (`test.mcp.solvimon.com`) only.

Invites a person or changes the type or roles of one of a user's memberships.

**Actions:** `invite`, `update_membership`

* Both are confirm-first. Without `confirmed: true` the tool returns the exact request it would send and writes nothing.
* Pass `role_names`; they are resolved to role ids. An unknown or ambiguous name is refused with the candidates.
* `role_ids` replaces the membership's roles. To add a role, send the current ones too.
* An invite sends a real email, also from the test server. Deactivating users is done in Desk.
