# get_users

**Live server:** available on `mcp.solvimon.com` as well as on the test server.

Read-only access to the people and machine principals who log in to Solvimon. These are not customers. Use it to resolve the owner of a quote, or to explain why someone gets a permission error.

**Actions:** `list`, `get`, `search`, `memberships` (users only)

**Resource types:** `users` (default), `roles`, `teams`, `user_teams`, `authentication_providers`, `api_keys`

* `search` takes a `filter`, not a body. `username` is an exact match on the full login address and returns a single user (or 404). `user_type` (`MORTAL`, `TOKEN`, `API`, `PROXY`, `EXTERNAL_CREDENTIALS`) returns every user of that type, so prefer `list` with `limit` and `page` for browsing.
* `memberships` shows the accounts a user belongs to, the membership type and the role names.
* Machine users and API keys come back as metadata only. A key value is never returned.
